Iceland Elects World's First Openly Gay PM

Johanna Sigurdardottir, a former air hostess, will be appointed as Iceland's new prime minister but will also be recognized as the world's first openly--gay prime minister. Her election has come in the time of global economic turmoil which has greatly affected Iceland's financial crumbling, where its over-leveraged economy was followed by the collapse of its banks and currency.

Prince Harry Faces Heat over Racial Remarks

Prince Harry is facing more heat for the video that leaked of the Prince whom, three years ago, was filmed during his training at the Sandhurst military academy spouting racial remarks about Asians (South Asian--Pakistani, Indian, etc). Along with several senior politicians who spoke in anger against Prince Harry's racial antics, the leader of a muslim youth organization condemned the Prince for the video in which he describes an Asian member of his platoon, Ahmed Raza Khan, as "our little Paki friend."

Anger and Protest for 'Racist' Play

At London's National Theater, two protesters carried placards on stage and disrupted a talk by the playwright, Richard Bean, until they were taken off stage by the theaters security. The two men went on stage to object the play, England People Very Nice, for racist depiction of ethnicities. The protesters claim to carry on with their protest by picketing the sponsor of the comedy play; a play that the theater described as a "riotous journey through four waves of immigration."

Economy Turns Up Heat for Immigration

The recent slump in the global economy has created some predictable outcomes. Most of us are not surprised when we learn that the flagging economy has reached out and dinged us in our personal lives. The impact on government spending programs, however, may have some implications for us in ways that many people have not anticipated. Case in point: the situation at the border and the situation for immigrants may be changing as a result of the administration's proposed budget.
