Cheri Register is a writer by vocation and also teaches creative non-fiction writing at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, MN.  She is the mother of two adult daughters adopted in infancy from South Korea, and writes and speaks about multiracial adoptive family life and the ethics of international adoption.  In addition to her work in that area, she has written about chronic illness, Scandinavian women's literature and history, and is the author of the award-winning memoir Packinghouse Daughter, about growing up working-class in the rural Midwest.  She has a Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Chicago.
